On 16th Feb 2023, Google revised its SEO Link Best Practices. Well, there is not much difference between the old document of SEO link best practices and the new document. In this document Google has provided the guidelines regarding writing better Anchor Texts, Internal Links in your content and backlinks from your niche websites.
In November 2022, Google said outbound links will be less important as a ranking factor. They are least important now. Go nowhere, you can read these SEO Links Best Practices here.
All Google wants to say through these best practices is:
Google crawls the links when they are in (<a href = “https://abc.com/xyz”>) this format
Google can resolve links which are in (<a href = “https://abc.com/xyz”>) format
Write Descriptive anchor texts rather than using words such as “Click Here”, Read more , and website etc.
Example: <a href=”https://abc.com/”>The Best Fish Pieces Seller in New York</a>
Your website should be interlinked properly, so Google can find the pages on your website easily
When we are providing a link to other websites on our website, use “no-follow” only when you do not trust the source
